For installers & contractors

UK Compliance Engine

Routine G98/G99 connection work, done by AI and approved by the installer.

UK Compliance Engine guides installers through G98 and G99 generator connection submissions to every GB Distribution Network Operator. It works out the right compliance route automatically, generates the complete document pack and tracks each submission through to DNO approval.

The problem

Why connections stall

Every solar PV or battery installation must be notified to, or approved by, the local DNO. Installers have to choose the right route, complete different forms for each DNO and assemble supporting documents by hand, and mistakes lead to rejections and delayed connections.

G98 or G99?

Installers must work out whether a system qualifies for G98 Connect & Notify or needs G99 Prior Approval, based on inverter capacity and current per phase.

Six DNOs, six sets of rules

UKPN, NGED, SSEN, SPEN, Northern Powergrid and ENW each have their own requirements and templates.

Manual document packs

ENA forms, single-line diagrams, electrical safety certificates and installer declarations are assembled by hand for every job.

Rejected submissions

Missing or inconsistent data such as MPANs, postcodes or inverter ratings leads to rework and delays.

No single view

Hard to see which submissions are draft, submitted, approved or rejected across a team.

What we will measure

Measured in early access

We will publish real figures for time per submission, first-time rejections and admin hours once early access has run. Until then these are shown as to be confirmed.

TBC

Time to prepare a submission today

To be measured in early access.

Submissions rejected first time

The solution

Submissions in minutes

A guided, rules-driven submission platform: enter the site and system details once, and the engine selects the route, validates the data and produces a ready-to-send document pack.

Smart wizard

A guided four-step form and an approval step, with automatic G98/G99 routing based on inverter capacity and amperage.

Live threshold engine

A real-time 16A-per-phase check shows whether the job qualifies for Connect & Notify or needs Prior Approval.

Auto-generated document packs

Complete packs with ENA forms, site diagrams, electrical safety certificates and installer declarations, ready to download.

Multi-DNO support

Pre-configured templates and requirements for UKPN, NGED, SSEN, SPEN, Northern Powergrid and ENW.

Submission tracking

Follow every submission from draft to DNO approval, with status notifications.

Compliance audit trail

Every change logged and every document versioned, so compliance can be shown with one click.

How it works

Five steps

Site & installer

Enter installer details, MCS number, site name, postcode and DNO region.

System specs

Add phase type, total inverter capacity and maximum current per phase.

Compliance check

The engine applies the 16A threshold and confirms the G98 or G99 route.

Document pack

Review a live PDF preview of the complete, branded pack.

Approval and submission

A named person approves. Only then is the pack sent, and replies and printing are tracked.

See it in action

Fixed rules, approval in practice

The 16A threshold and document rules are fixed in the system. Nothing is submitted to a DNO without the installer's approval. Screens from the working prototype, with sample data.

Approval before sending Every pack waits here with its automatic checks. Nothing is sent to a network operator until a named person approves.
ComplianceEngine UK dashboard showing jobs that need the installer today, submissions awaiting approval, with the DNO and ready to print. Sample data.
Installer dashboard Each job says what the next step is, with deadlines for G98 notification and G99 decisions.

Scope

What is in, and what is not

In scope

  • G98 Connect & Notify submissions (up to 16A per phase)
  • G99 Prior Approval applications (over 16A per phase), Forms A and B
  • Document packs: ENA forms, single-line diagram, electrical safety certificate, installer declaration, protection settings schedule
  • Data validation: UK postcode, 13-digit MPAN, MCS number, inverter and current limits
  • All six GB DNO groups
  • Team accounts, submission history, audit trail and PDF branding

Out of scope

  • Electrical design or engineering sign-off
  • Submitting to DNO portals without the installer's approval
  • Replacing job-management, CRM or accounting software

How it is built

Technology

Web application

Next.js and React with TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui components.

Rules & validation engine

Structured submission schema with automatic G98/G99 routing and checks for postcode, MPAN, MCS number and electrical limits.

Document generation

PDF templates for G98 Form A, G99 Forms A and B, single-line diagram, electrical safety certificate, installer declaration and protection settings.

Data, accounts & storage

A Postgres database for user accounts and submissions, planned for Google Cloud. The prototype runs on Supabase and Vercel with sample data.

Hosting

Prototype on Vercel and Supabase today. Production hosting is planned for Google Cloud, in a UK or Western EU region, confirmed in writing before any contract.

Security & compliance

Role-based team access, full audit trail and single sign-on on the Enterprise plan. UK GDPR by design. Certifications TBC.

Plans

Plans for every installer

Monthly or annual subscription (save up to 20% with annual billing), or pay-per-pack with no subscription. Proposed launch prices, excluding VAT.

Prices shown are proposed launch prices. All prices exclude VAT.

Each plan's features are fixed as listed. For early access, the scope, acceptance criteria and success measures are agreed in writing before it starts.
