For accountancy practices
Accountant Agent
Routine accountancy work, done by AI and approved by a qualified accountant.
Accountant Agent tackles the capacity crisis without adding headcount. It sits on top of the tools you already use, runs your standard procedures with seven specialist AI agents, and routes every output through a qualified accountant for approval before it leaves the firm.

The problem
Why practices struggle
UK accountancy loses an estimated £5.33 billion a year to inefficiency, and many practices run several disconnected tools that staff bridge by hand.
Tool overload
About 45% of UK respondents (89 of 200) use two or more accounting tools at once. (Chift, State of European Accounting Tech 2026)
No single client record
Data lives in several different tools, so staff reconcile it manually.
Deadline sprawl
Self Assessment, CT600, VAT and MTD quarters all sit on different calendars.
Client chasing by hand
Staff send individual emails, with no tracking and no audit trail.
No approval chain
Who approved that filing? Too often, the answer is buried in an email chain.
The talent wall
43% of UK accountants plan to leave the profession within the next year (Silverfin 2026, UK sample of 100). 46% say they receive more advisory requests than they can handle (Silverfin 2026).

£5.33bn

The solution
One operating layer, seven agents
An SOP-orchestration platform with seven specialist AI agents, all sharing one client record. A client event, deadline or inbound letter triggers the right procedure; agents do the chasing, drafting and preparing; a qualified accountant reviews and approves; the outcome is filed on time, audit-logged and the client is notified.
1 · Intake Agent
Enquiry replies, client classification, tier recommendation and AML trigger.
2 · Ledger & Banks
Transaction coding, bank reconciliation, receipt matching and flags for review.
3 · Records Chaser
Personalised chase sequences, escalation and missing-item summaries.
4 · Compliance & Filings
Deadline calendar, filing packs, readiness checks and submission preparation.
5 · HMRC / Companies House mail
Letter triage, draft replies, appeal letters and payment allocation.
6 · Advisory
Relief screening, scenario modelling, KPI packs and opportunity alerts.
7 · Billing & Ops
Invoice generation, payment reminders, WIP tracking and upsell prompts.
Orchestrator & dashboard
Routes tasks, holds state per client and escalates exceptions. Every client, deadline and task in one view.
See it in action
Approval in practice
Nothing is sent to a client, HMRC or Companies House until a named accountant approves, edits or rejects it. Screens from the working prototype, with sample data.

Assist mode
Assist mode: zero disruption
Your tools stay
Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, your practice software, HMRC Gateway, email and calendar. No rip-and-replace.
Direct API links
Bank feeds, the HMRC agent API, Companies House API and e-signature. Encrypted, with no manual data entry.
Agents do the work
Chase clients, draft filings, triage HMRC mail and flag exceptions, in your firm's voice.
You stay in charge
Review AI drafts, click to approve, sign off filings and advise clients. Your name, your judgement.
A Self Assessment season, before and after
A Self Assessment season: before
- Staff manually identify which clients need chasing
- Individual emails sent, with no tracking or escalation
- Senior accountant builds draft returns by hand
- Missing information causes last-minute panics in January
- No visibility of where each client is in the process
After
- The agent identifies each client's readiness status
- Personalised chase sequences run automatically (3 touchpoints)
- Draft return populated from ledger data and flagged for review
- Partner reviews the pre-built return and approves it
- A live dashboard shows every client's status in real time
Illustrative workflow for a practice of 300 clients. Not a measured result.
Where the work goes
Routine work, handed to agents
- Admin: chase sequences, intake forms, portal updates
- HMRC correspondence: triage, draft replies, payment allocation
- Bookkeeping: transaction coding, bank reconciliation, receipt matching
- Compliance support: deadline tracking, readiness checks, filing pack assembly
- Client services: status updates, standard queries, document requests
- Payroll admin: data collection, HMRC submission preparation
Human professionals remain responsible for all judgements, advice and sign-offs.
How it is built
Technology
Integrations
Wraps your existing tools via secure API: Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, CCH, TaxCalc, Iris, email and calendar.
Direct connections
Bank feeds, HMRC agent API, Companies House API and e-signature service.
AI layer
Claude, with each of the seven agents built as a skill: instructions, examples, allowed tools and output format.
Workflow & records
n8n, self-hosted, runs the workflows. Postgres holds the client record, approvals and audit trail. Each layer can be replaced.
Human approval gate
Every outbound action, whether a filing, letter or advice, needs a qualified accountant's explicit approval. Architectural, not policy.
Security, review & compliance
Google Cloud, in a UK or Western EU region, confirmed in writing before signature. Encryption in transit and at rest, and UK GDPR data processing terms. Traceability is part of the design: each figure links back to its source record. Professional indemnity and cyber insurance will be in place before the first project starts.
